Coen Rees

An African French-born Londoner, Coen Rees has built a huge archive of music photographs taken in England in the mid-nineties documenting the rise of the “Britpop” era. She now lives in New York. Her unique high-contrast images have a timeless quality--the photos could have been taken at a show last night, or 20 years ago, and have an intimate quality as well as an iconic edge.
