Jasmine Hirst

Jasmine Hirst is a filmmaker and photographic artist. Her films are in the collection of the New York Film-Makers’ Coop of the New American Cinema Group and have screened to great acclaim at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; London’s The Horse Hospital Gallery; Lincoln Center, New York; and the Sydney Underground Film Festival. Hirst’s footage of Aileen Wuornos on death row has appeared on Reel Crime/Real Story on the Investigation Discovery TV network. Her work was the subject of a lecture at Columbia University about leading contemporary American experimental filmmakers. She has exhibited her photographic art internationally, including at the Casa Del Pane in Milan, Sprengel Museum in Hanover, Illuminated Metropolis Gallery in New York, AMP/Art Market Provincetown, and with Lydia Lunch at Lethal Amounts gallery in L.A. An exhibition of photographs of the late Chrissy Amphlett was shown at I Touch Myself Project at Blender Gallery, Sydney.
