Kelsey Bennett

Native New Yorker Kelsey Bennett has been exhibiting her work since 2010. Her photography and film have appeared in VICE, i-D, Office Magazine, and Interview Magazine. Referred by Vanity Fair as a “photographer specializing in the surreal,” Kelsey Bennett is noted for a style that depicts a “super-real life.” She started practicing photography at the age of twelve, when was taught by her grandmother to develop photos in the darkroom. She studied at Parsons School of Design as a Photography major and Savannah College of Art and Design (abroad in France) she continued her education in the field interning for photographers Annie Leibovitz, Danielle Levitt, and Lele Saveri. She has been a backstage photographer for designers Prabal Gurung, Alexandar Wang, Rodarte, Jeremy Scott, Phillip Lim, and Zach Posen. She has photographed artists such as Amy Winehouse, Willie Nelson, Aretha Franklin, and Lady Gaga. Her work spans multiple mediums. She has exhibited her sculptural work throughout the years, has curated exhibitions in NYC, Miami, and London, and has premiered her documentary films with Tribeca Film Festival as well as Marfa Film Festival.
