Melissa Auf der Maur

Melissa Auf der Maur is well known to music fans since she joined Hole in 1994 as the bands's bassist, as well as a touring member of the Smashing Pumpkins. Besides being an accomplished musician, Auf der Maur is also a photographer.

Her photographs have been included in National Geographic and exhibited at Sotheby's. Alongside her husband, filmmaker Tony Stone. Stone and Auf der Maur are the creative directors and owners of Basilica Hudson, an arts and performance center in Hudson, New York.

Housed in a solar powered, reclaimed 1880s industrial factory, Basilica Hudson, is a nonprofit multidisciplinary art center located in Hudson NY, welcomes over 20,000 visitors each season to genre-pushing music festivals, large scale marketplace events, regular film screenings, an artist in residency program, a new weekly concert/art series in the Gallery Building, public installations and other community gatherings.

She is currently writing a book, and working on photography exhibitions.
